Amazon has the Bosch 5412L 12" sliding compound miter saw for $518 and the saw comes with an extra Freud 92T saw blade ($99) and a rebate for a free Bosch PR10E colt hand held router. When at their site look for the link in the middle of the page to add both the saw and blade to your cart and at check out use coupon code FREUDBLD to get the $170 discount. The rebate for the PR10E router is direct through Bosch.

Chris,

How did you get it down to $518.

I see a $50 off and the blade. Am I missing something? I think I will order anyway. But if I can get another $30 off that would be sweet.

I am not sure why it works like it does but what it's doing is you get an automatic $50 off the saw + $99 off on the blade and then for some reason it gives you another $20 off at check out when use code FREUDBLD.

So: $589 for the saw + $99 for the blade is $688...then they take off $170 automatically at check for a final price of $519 (be sure and select the free shipping option and make sure you click on the button in the middle of the page that will add the blade and saw to your cart).

Also you can print the rebate coupon on the bosch site for the PR10E router:

please keep in mind that the bosch SCMS weighs almost 60# and that it takes up a great deal of room because of the slider. a buddy of mine is currently trying to unload his 5412L after realizing these two basic realities. :(

Size and weight certainly need to be considered in ones priorities. For my circumstances they did not come into play. I have a spot that will be fine with no need to move it around…only plan to lift it once.

I think the Bosch is a decent(ok pretty nice):) saw, but for the weight and accuracy I recommend the Hitachi 10" dual slide. Depends on what you're using it for and if its gotta be mobile. For me, the thought of unloading and loading a heavier saw than the Hitachi daily will keep me at home keeping my playstation warm.:D

I tried placing an order online could not get the free blade. I used the promo "freudbld" at checkout but got a reply that it was not valid. So I called their help line and was told that only one discount could be applied per order. The $50 instant rebate is automatically applied so the help desk guy said he could manually remove it and apply the free blade discount. Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks Joe Johnson

When you go to put the saw in your cart you must click on the section in the (Special Offers and Promotions) where it says ADD BOTH TO CART. When you do this you will get your discounts and if you opt for the super saver discount you will get your shipping free. This is what I did and I had it on my doorstep in 2 days. My total cost was $519.99. Make sure you print off the rebate coupon with the link in Chris's reply and then you can send it in for the free Bosch Colt PR10E router. Make sure you follow the directions on the rebate coupon and send in the original receipt and upc code that will be on the box when it arrives. DON'T send in a reproduction! Hope this helps.
