Hello All,
I am finally spending some time on the lathe and am making a croguet set for a friend. I have milled out some maple to 1" octagonal stock and have turned one for a pattern and set up the duplictor to make the nine others. I will keep 16+ inches of the handle octagonal, then taper to 3/4" and tenon into the mallet head. I am getting a lot of wobble, whip, flutter, or whatever it's called, when tooling the mid-point and was wondering what is recommended for a steady rest? I have seen posts for the home brewed variety and pics of the Oneway. Looking for experiences/ suggestions. Thanks, John.

I own the OneWay and have been pleased with it. But building one isn't too terrible a task if you are up for the work!
