Well It's been a while since I have posted anything, and if all my turnings took as long to finish as this one I would only post about one every 2 years.
This one has been in the works for a long while, Mark Cothren sent me this great piece of wood about 2 years ago. Thanks Mark!
I rough turned it and it set for a long time, finished turned it and it set for even longer. I sanded the outside and the inside of the top needed to be hand sanded. well I really hate hand sanding especially when you have a sharp corner to sand in, so I would only sand on it once in a blue moon.
I'm real picky about my finishes so I was not going to be pleased unless it was right, so I guess thats why it took so long to finish.
14 5/8" tall X 9 1/4" wide
finish is antique oil, buffed.

Jim, that is one lovely piece. You picked a beautiful selection of wood to show off this design.

Nice wood, and outstanding use of it... WELL worth the effort you put in, and that effort really shows. I like the way that the simple foot/pedestal elevates the piece without making the whole thing look "bottom heavy."
