I've seen an oil cup on the Frank Klauz workbench diagrams in Scott Landis' Workbench Book. I've also run across one use of the term "Frank Klausz oil cup" on the web, but cannot find any further information, From the placement on the diagram, I'm guessing this thing has something to do with keeping the tail vise hardware lubricated. Anyone able to give me a good explanation and details on implementing?

Thanks!

Well I should have known that would work. The second I posted the question, I thought of another way to search and found the answer.

The oil cup has nothing to do with lubricating anything on the bench. It's a carved cup that "swings out when you need to lubricate plane sole or saw".

Sorry if I bothered anyone, left the thread in case anyone else wanted the same info...

It is used in conjunction with a wick. And you are correct it is for oiling the soles of planes and saws.
