When I engrave from a cdr file with the DPI set at 300, the job shows up in 2 seconds on my Epilog Mini but when the DPI is set for 600, the job takes 2 minutes or longer to reach the Epilog. I've gone to Properties to see the file size and they are similar. I'm a Mac guy and am stumped so I seek help from the PC family.
Thanks, Bob

Bob, The file created by the Epilog Driver will be larger at 600dpi than 300dpi, thus the increase in time.

Try a 1200 dpi photo 12"x12" and see how long it takes, it can be 20 minutes or more.

I believe you are quadrupling the file size when you increase the dpi from 300 to 600.

Double the length and quadruple the area, yes. So you're sending 4x the data, BUT CorelDraw has to do 4x more folding, stuffing, collating and whatever else Corel does to the data before sending. This can easily use your memory up, and if your computer switches to virtual memory (ie, the hard disk) everything can s l o w w a y d o w n .

I get around that by exporting at 100 dpi and then exporting a 2nd time at 600 dpi. This is using a .tif file to raster, and it also keeps it from distorting as I have had occasionaly happen by going directly to 600 dpi. I don't know that it will work on your systems but you might try it.
