Y'All are probably getting tired of looking at these, but here's another Newfy Sofa table I just finished. How do you like the "medalion" on the front apron? I wanted to do a little something different this time.

Great job Guy...I like the new touch.
Also love Nuffs...an engineer I work with has 2 and she only weighs 100 pound herself. A testament to the calm demeanor of the breed.

Hi Guy, nice table, nice contrast. How do you inlay the dog.I imagine you cut it out on the bandsaw. Then you trace the outline onto table and then you rout it? If so how do you get the rout line to fit so well with the dog? Id like to do the same type of table with a boston terrier.
Thanks

:D I should. I've made enough of the darn things.

Craig,
I use an inlay kit (http://www.amazon.com/Woodstock-International-H3133-Inlay-Carbide/dp/B0000DD4MM/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-8212314-9190322?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1194195580&sr=8-1) for my router to do the Newf inlay. Basically, It's designed so that with the bushing on, you cut on one side of your line, and with it off, you cut on the other side of the line. I use a pattern. I stick it to my inlay piece, route the outline, the slice it off on the band saw. I then use the same pattern to route the area of the table top where the inlay will go.

Very nice! I think I'd also like to see something like that in a progression of woods, from light to dark, and vice versa. Something like like walnut-cherry-maple possibly. The very abrupt transition from dark-light-dark is a little jarring to my eye.
