Spalted Alder and Concalo Alves

Work has been seriously cutting into my turning time! I haven't even had time to do more than pop in here for a few minutes. I finished these two off a few weeks ago, first time with either wood but I like'em both.

Spalted Alder deep bowl - 5.5 x 3.5, sanded to 12000, antique oil then poly. (Got another blank of this stuff that is destined for a HF)

Concalo Alves candy dish - 7.25 x 1.5, sanded ot 12000, just antique oil.

Beautiful bowls! I am building a kitchen full of cabinets out of Goncalo Alves. Very nice wood to work with, mills very nicely. I will have a ton of cutoffs for pen blanks when I'm done. Looking forward to turning the pens and really looking forward to being done with the cabinets, its beginning to get boring. Those bowls are super looking.
