i'm checking out a listing on craigslist.org which is advertising the drum sander as NIB so i'm wondering how large is the main unit and more importantly, will it it fit in a honda accord?

I'd say yes because I just picked one up a month ago. 2 boxes. Table/Conveyor is more flat. Easy fit in trunk or back seat.
Sander box is more long, narrow than short & fat.
I don't remember it blocking my view so I'd say less than 2 feet square at the ends and 4 foot long. Bugger is heavy though. :)

Got the locking casters from Woodcraft and used the bolts for the table's 'feet' upside down to attach to the base.

Mine was 2 hours each way. Of course I was on my way to the out-laws, so it was really just passing by. :)
Gotta say, it's taken a couple of hours off of my end-grain cutting board builds. After glueing 24 of the 5/8" strips, I wasn't exactly flat with the result. 5-6 passes with the sander, it looks perfect! ;)

Nothing like the right tool for the job........
