Other than the stands, is there any difference between the Ridgid JP0610 and the JPO6000?

I think the heads are the same. I have the old gray style and it has served me well for 5+ years.

weird - i have one with the gray stand but in the shape of the one in the orange - vv style not cabinet style. i bought it used - spent all of 5 minutes setting the fence to 90 and moved the outfeed table a hair - been like that about 6 months and still produces 90 degree edges.

the only thing annoying about it is the blade guard allows anything less than 3/4" thickness slide underneath - it's supposedly a SAFETY feature to discourage you from jointing thin stock!

Verify the HP on the straight stand unit. I bought one seriously discounted at H.D. three years ago. Thought it was the same as the tapered stand but found out it was only 3/4 HP. Took it back and got $50.00 off a new 1 HP Unit. Good Jointer for the money.

It is a 3/4 hp. Are you recommending I stay away from the 3/4 hp one?

The JP0610 is listed as the 1 hp one on Ridgid's website.

The used model I saw advertised is not the JP0610. It is an older model.

If I remember correctly, my old Jet 6" (2 jointers ago) was 3/4hp . I never had any problems jointing to the full capacity.

3/4 HP is fine for a 6 inch jointer.

It's a jointer, you are going to be cutting 1/64 or 1/32 of an inch, not hogging off 1/8 like a planer.
