I was wondering if anyone here on the creek has any info about a saw that I bought today. It is a North State model RXW 10. Found it on Craigs list for $50.00, a good deal I thought .

The saw has a cast iron top, open web cast iron wings and a jet lock
tubular type fence on it ...no blade guard or miter guage, but does have standard 3/8"x 3/4" miter slots. Top is 27" x20&1/4" with two 10&1/4" x 27" extensions.

Motor is a Marathon 2hp.3450 rpm belt drive with machined pulleys.
It is a 115/208/230 volt "heavy" motor that really hums!

I plan to change the belt to a link type pretty soon, and later on maybe
a Delta T-2 fence and rails, the present fence is lined up perfectly with
the blade and cuts right on the dimension indicated.

This seems to be a decent saw, especially for the money, will make it a
back-up saw or maybe dedicate as a dado saw...haven't decided that as of yet. What do you all think about it?...give some opinions...the advice here always seems to be right on the money to me.
would like to hear what you think of it. The seller said he thinks it is about 8 or 10 years old, it was used by his neighbor as a jobsite saw(trim carpenter/ contractor) until he bought a newer one a while back.

I'm going to take time to really clean and polish/ shine it up...make it look
and perform like a new one...already started some of that! But I think it will be worth the effort ( and I like doing it as well). Let me hear from you guys........Jim Heffner
