Playhouse my wife and I built for the kids from scratch, no plans, winged it and painted, this summer (note the clear roof):

Mosaic table, I built the base out of half lapped cross pieces set into intersecting mortises. The top is a concrete board sandwich with plywood in the center, all thin-setted and screwed together, then we tiled 1000s of tiny tiles and glass on the top (the table is 5 feet in diameter). I drew the design on a piece of typing paper, and then scanned that and sent the digital image to a 35mm slide service, and then projected it onto the table top and drew it in permanent ink. It took me a long time to make this table:

I love the table and the playhouse - esp the clear roor. Once my kids have outgrown the swingset, I'll build them somthing like that. Nice work.

Beautiful table Dave. I'm more interested in the material that you used for the roof of the doll house.

David,

Its a polycarbonate roofing material called "Suntuf" by Palram:

since its polycarbonate its not brittle and cannot break, it can bend though. I cut it to size with a good pair of aviation snips, no need for saws as they state in the manual.
I believe they rate Suntuf "BEST" out of the 3 or so products they offer. It blocks UV rays and is completely clear (they also have tinted versions).

I bought it at Home Depot.

Our backyard can be windy at times, but if you screw it down according to the screwing schedule, its fine (especially around the perimeter: rake and eve of the roof).
