Sorry if this is in the wrong forum- I figured it would get the most traffic here.
For those with chainsaws and/or trucks/tractors/sawmills in the Atlanta area who wish to scavenge for free lumber-
There's several areas of development or road construction just underway or will be shortly.
There's an area on PaperMill Road in East Cobb that I saw 3 trackhoes beginning to knock down trees this morning. This is just past the three new U-shaped mansions, heading westbound towards the creek.
Abernathy Road from Johnson Ferry to Mount Vernon Highway will soon be widened to 5 lanes. Most of the houses that are still standing are abandoned and waiting the trackhoe and dump truck for removal. There's several large mature trees along this road.
Those two places are all I can think of at this time, but both of these areas are heavily wooded with mature trees.
