From a friend's email:

A couple of guys that I know were out fishing last week about 1 ½ miles off the coast of Sandy Hook, NJ when they saw something in the water.
It’s nothing like a great white shark… but still pretty impressive.

Is that a white tail deer they are using for bait for a great white?

You boys up north sure use some funny fish bait. If you need some more I have about a dozen in the front yard eating the azaleas. :) :)

Seems that the facts have changed a bit. Inshore waters Chesapeke bay( 1.5 miles from shore) not offshore of NJ.

This one has made the rounds on e-mail, but it is a true story--the poor deer was swimming around in the bay and almost exhausted itself, and would probably have drowned if not pulled into the boat.

Deer hunting here in the northwoods of Wisconsin is one month away. My husband and crew haven't had much luck the last few years...perhaps they should try fishing for them!:)
