I brought this on myself.
I was trying to get a better level (without brush strokes) when putting down shellac, so I cut it with denatured alcohol as is recommended.
Then I kept putting it down until the board surface wouldn't take any more, much like you would with oil. That was my mistake. Combined with the cooler than usual temperatures meant it took forever for the board to dry.
End result: a 5x28" drilled and dry-fitted highly figured (one of my nicest boards) tiger maple drawer front now shaped like a twizzler.
