View Full Version : Cutting Board Glue up Question

Yes yes, I know cutting board questions...all over the place...

But I did run a few searches and didn't find the answers...

I remember reading somewhere about biscuit jointing the pieces as you join them...but nothing specific...

Does it work best to joint them in this fashion, or does old fashioned glue em up with Tightbond work fine without it?

For standard edge-gluing, adding biscuits may help with alignment but adds nothing to the strength.

I have been making a lot of them, make one and everyone that sees them wants one...

I plane all the boards first and then just use Titebond III for the glue.
I do end grain so on the second cut I will have a little bit left and I have tried to brake the joints apart and it always brakes the wood and not the joint.

So I see no need to for a biscuit.

I just use regular glue but very dry wood and it is very rare to have a failure. Many of these are so called difficult to glue but we have no problem. Dry wood and good clamp pressure.
