What are some of the sources for purpleheart and other hardwoods in the Knoxville, TN area or close.
I just don't want to get shot twice. Once by the lumber company and again by the shipping carrier.
I'm looking for material for cutting boards.
I know that Woodcraft has it, but they only have 4/4.
Thanks.

Depending on how far you want to drive there is a place near Asheville NC that carries a bunch of different species.

Jeffries Woodworks
8807 Valgro road
865-573-5876
Off Chapman highway about 2-3 miles past John Sevier Hwy crossing
Turn at Valley Grove church (Simpson road) There is a large cemetary you can't miss it.
They have about everything. Woodcraft near Barnes and Noble also has a large variety of wood.
