Having never used the Bosch, I'm not objective, but the Hitachi is a fantastic saw and that is a great price. If it were me, I'd recommend the Hitachi and go get the Dewalt saw stand for $180-200 at your local HD or Lowes. You'll be saving $100, have a better stand IMO, and a saw that no one can say much bad about.

It looks like the Hitachi is about 200 bucks off the regular price. Looks like you have great timing. Jump on the Hitachi. At the same price most would say Bosch, but for $200-$250 less, go Hitachi. it is not 200 in lower quality, just another amazon sale.

After re-reading the post, I had to go to Amazon to double check that we were talking about the same saw. To me, that is a FANTASTIC deal on that saw. I'm on my 3rd one(no longevity issues, I just broke one by flipping it off the back of a junky stand onto concrete;thus the dewalt recommmendation - the second one was stolen)... anyways, I paid $500+tax for every one of them.

:D:)

Thank you all for you advise, I think I'll go with the Hitachi, and get a good stand, Any recommendations of a great stand!

Michael

I'd get the Hitachi and used the cost difference to get a stand (I have the Ryobi. It's cheap and solid as a rock. Look at the Rigid also. It's very mobile) and get a good blade. Use the stock blade for rough stuff. All other things being close to equal, you'll see most the quality difference in the blade. You can't go wrong with a Freud or Forrest crosscut blade. Post pics when you get all the toys!

HomeDepot carries the Ridgid MSUV (Miter Saw Utility Vehicle). Its a stand with wheels which can be transported and stands upright when not be used to save space. Cost $150 Can find an older model for $100 at some HD's if available and it's just as good.

MSUV (http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100093215)

I researched/bought it after reading about it on a few other forums which gave the MSUV great recommendations.

I looked at them all then bought the HTC Port-a-mate. Extremely strudy. Came with a work light, vise, and power strip for less than the price of the Dewalt.

I bought extra mounts and use it my shop to mount various benchtop machines when not using the miter saw. Takes all of 20 seconds to switch machines.
