Walnut 3''x12'' , finish with food safe gloss uh forgot the the name of the finish...General Salad bowl finish.... turned all except the recess with carbide tool tri-corner metal bit on 1/2'' shank in my pipe collet, start to finsh, was just under 2 hrs with one potty break:eek: .Hoging it out was slow but the carbide left such a nice surface it only took about 4 minutes to sand to 320 grit, paper bag polish, final coat this morning. My personal web site ( not the commerical one) has a description of the carbide and the handle tutorial but no pic of this bowl....yet.. There is a hf in birch I did this morning end grain using just the carbide and I explain it at the site. Cost of the whole tool is 22$ plus the screw was .45 cents, I have to get a green wheel to sharpen on as I used the machine shops at my part time job and it cost 23$ for a 3/4'' x 6''.And as soon as someone buys this bowl I can get my own wheel. Bowl was started at 500 rpm till smoothed out then at 1250 for shaping inside and out, with finish and clean up cuts at 1700. So smooth it'll put Southern Comfort to shame...Thanks for looking!!
