I'm moving on to insulating, VB'ing and drywall/OSB for my shop this week. I am required by code to have drywall on the wall thats on the property line (2 feet from the neighbours) but will be hanging OSB in the rest.

I was wondering what I should use for fasteners to hang the OSB. This is a pole barn and the poles are PT, so I will need something corrosion resistant. In between the poles I could use a regular screw. Any idea on size?

Thanks in advance

1 1/4-1 1/2" stainless screws would work just fine to hole the OSB to your framing. Robertson/Square drive of course... :)

Thanks Jim, thats what I figured. I had someone suggest decking screws but I didn't think they'd have the shear strength for the vertical load.

Red Robby of course, is there any other type?!!!:)

One more question, can drywall screws go into PT lumber? Or will I have to go stainless there too? Are there any problems using stainless for drywall? other than cost of course.

They make drywall screws that have a coating for going into PT lumber. Ask at your hardware store.
