Has anyone bought anything from either of these two place? If so what did you think?

Quality Hardwoods, Durant OK 580-931-6125
or
Gray's Sawmill 580-924-2941 Durant

Both advertise in the weekly shopper

Or do you know of any other good sources of rough cut lumber?

Thanks

Hi Carl. There are several hardwood dealers in Dallas. Austin Hardwood is a popular place for rough cut lumber, and various types of plywood. Central Hardwoods Inc. is another place to consider. Wood World is yet another. There are several others that have slid through my Teflon brain. Give wood finder (http://www.woodfinder.com/) a look.

Thanks Ken

Do those places sell rough cut or is it already surfaced on two sides?

Austin's still my favorite in D/FW.

Check out Woods of Mission Timber, they're near Sanger (north of Denton, TX, pretty close to the Red River for Okies.) Google the name.

There's the Hardwood Dealer Formerly Known as Hogan (which was Fomerly Known as Paxton). I don't know what they're known as this month, but still doing business in Grand Prairie (I think:confused: ).

I live near Hogan, but unfortunately they are only open business hours during the week and not on weeks. So I therefore goto Austin's over in Dallas. They have surfaced two sides, straight line ripped. Not sure if they sell full rough of not.

Woodworld in Richardson as a way to go. Their customer service has been great. I have bought African Mahogany, Sapele, Ash, Maple in 8/8 and 4/4. Also hardwood ply for cabinets. They have a great selection of types and occaisionally have a one-of-a-kind piece of something like a redwood burl. www.woodworldtx.com (http://www.woodworldtx.com)
