I am adding a router table extension to the right side of my Ridgid 3650 table saw. I would like to build a fence for the router table that would attach to the table saw fence. I've seen a couple of designs that slip over the ts fence and a few that bolt to the ts fence. If you have any pictures of fences that you've built I'd love to see them.

Here's an interesting idea: http://www.popularwoodworking.com/features/fea19.html

And I have another if you want to PM me your private email (can't attach the file to SMC emails).

Hi. My router fence is connected to a saddle which hangs on the Biesemeyer Fence on my 22124. It has worked well for me. The fence is a combination of ideas taken from other user's creations. I also made zero clearance inserts for a number of bits. This is my old table. I have since built a new one which houses a Woodpeck Unilift and Hitachi M12V2.

I have a router mounted in the right wing of my table saw as You are planning. I have a Mule fence, which has a pretty simple front rail assembly. I"d be using the Mule fence as a router table fence and would need to rip a piece for whatever reason. That requires moving the fence to rip then having to return it to its previous position. I built a router fence independent of the table saw fence so I can position the router fence and still use move the table saw fence up to about 12" right of the blade before it hits the router table fence. This has come in handy a number of times when having to rip narrower pieces while the router fence or table saw fence was set up for a particular job.

The reason I was able to do this is that the Mule front rail is pretty simple and it was easy to fabricate a mechanism that locks to that front rail. I'm not familiar with the Ridgid fence and it may be difficult to come up with a means to lock the fence on the rail. If so, could You clamp a separate router fence to the saw without using the table saw fence rail? Hope this makes sense.

I've made two over the years. I copied the Sommerfeld pivoting fence and made the one in Wood magazine. I now have an Incra for joint making but a combo of the pivoting fence w/flexibility of the Wood design would work well:

Mike,

Middle picture, is that an 80/20 extrusion? If not, where is it from?

Thanks

Thanks for the ideas. I think I'll combine a couple of these ideas. Pete, your fence that saddles the ts fence is what I had in mind. Is your's a friction fit or does it somehow attach to the ts fence? I like the idea of being able to slide it off with relative ease when needed.
