Now if there is a such thing as a generic Title in a woodworker's forum...this is it!
Does anyone know of a site where you can get good information on different woods. Grain types, suitability for this glue or that glue, which types can be glued to each other, humidity ranges, ease of cutting/shaping, good finish types....and so on?
As an example, I see great pieces all the time on this site (the last set of end grain cutting boards LEFT ME SPEECHLESS). But how do these different woods expand and contract as a whole? Surely each type has a different expansion ratio and would put added stresses on the glue joints.
