I've been away from wwing for awhile and we have moved. I had to sell my Performax 16-32 drum sander due to space limitations. I'm going to try and squeeze a 10-20 into my new small shop. I'm confused about which one to buy--the Jet or Performax. The pics of them appear to be the same. Are they the same quality? Have the conveyor belt tracking problems been resolved? Any source recommendations of where to buy online? Thanks for any respones.

The names have been changed to protect the innocent.

What has happened is that WMH Tool owns the brand names. They seem to be targeting the performax name to dept store tool lines. What you know as Peformax sanders are now re-branded as Jet. And the large Performax drum sanders, 25" + closed stand, were sold out to a group that uses the brand name SuperMax.

Hope this helps.

And as always if I got any of this wrong I'm sure my fellow creekers will point it out. :)

Thanks for the posts, gentlemen. I think that I'm going to go with the 10-20 model and get it from Amazon. Will do one last check on the customer reviews there though. Those reviews have been a big help to us for lot's of different items we have bought over the years.
