The only place I have bought tools online is amazon. I was wondering where are some of the online stores others buy their tools at? I am talking about trustworthy and reliable merchants.
Thanks,
Paul

Paul,

I have no affiliation with them but Toolnut.com is awesome. They will beat most prices.
Bought a PM3520B from them and they beat an incredible price that amazon was offering.

Lee Valley (by far the cream of the crop), Rockler, Woodcraft, Woodworker's Supply, Coastal Tool, etc., are all good sources.

McFeeley's is excellent for fasteners and stuff.

If they have a B&M pressence, I haven't had issues with them.

Besides Woodcraft, Rockler, Amazon, Sears (hand tools, you have to assemble your tools sometimes),

I've done Heavydutytools.net and thetoolwarehouse.net (automotive, another hobby now). Holbren.

I wish someplace like Resellerratings.com, or epinions would get more into these type of listings. (not just the electronics, and tools themselves).

What both Jims said.

I guess I buy most from Rockler and Woodcraft.

Rockler has been very good, I got 2 small hinge sets from them and one was missing the hardware kit, sent them an email and 3 days later I had the hardware kit in the mail.

In addition to those fine sites already mentioned [especially Lee Valley  ] you may want to check out ToolsforWorkingWood. They have some real fine selections, including hard to find hand tool items. I especially like their finishing supplies, dyes, etc. Just my .02

Funny you should mention them - they're a couple of miles up the road from me. I didn't even realize they did mail order business. Anyway, I second Jim's recommendation.

Tools-plus.com has been in business over 25 years, gives excellent prices and usually only charges $6.50 for shipping, even on large items such as a floor model drill press. I've placed a couple orders with them.

Also, another vote for Lee Valley.

Have had good experiences with Rockler and Woodcraft. Also have tried Hartville Tools. They make some errors, but eventually get them straightened out. Haven't bought from Home Depot on-line, but they carry a wider range of power tools than is available in their stores. Recently bought a 15x38 inch lathe from Sears along with the custom made stand for this tool. The stand arrived in about a week. Although the on-line site said that the lathe was available, in took almost two months to receive it. Sears answer was that it was available in some of their warehouses, but not the one that serves my area. They refused to transfer one over, so I waited. The upside is that there's a site that specializes in Palmgren tools (this is who supplies the lathe to Sears) and they would have been much quicker.
Hope this helps.

I've had great experiences with www.craftsmanStudio.com (http://www.craftsmanStudio.com), and just had a good experience with Grizzly. I've also bought from Rockler and Woodcraft without incident.

I have purchased power tools from hechinger.com and had great experiences. Decent prices on some of the things I couldn't find on amazon or were over priced. I was looking for some specific Bosch tools and they had a great selection.
