I've been making signs using Corian and V-Carving the text, a quick sand, spray paint, then another sanding (removing paint on surface), then a coat or two of "clear coat". Just wanted to see if anyone else was doing something similar or see if there are any other ways to "color the letters".

Attached is a pic of my work.

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin,

I use a lot of Corian for sign work, both v-carving and laser engraving. Besides spray painting you can fill with various types of materials, the first that comes to mind is Dupont's adhesive which is available in a wide variety of colors. You can also use colored epoxy and self leveling resins that can be color mixed to suit.

Try adding another thin layer of contrasting Corian on top of your plaque and then machine through the top layer, your text and graphics will then be the color of your base piece. To add a third color v-carve the thin later and paint fill, you can get some innovative designs using multi-stack Corian and paint.
