Looks like Powermatic will have some competition:

But, it is competition within the same company.

Looks like all the patents from the PM2000 made there way into this one. One question: does anyone else think that the flex tube DC connection means that the rest of the cabinet will have no outlet for sawdust? It's just going to build up, because sawdust gets everywhere.

Funny. This saw has been available for 6 MONTHS. Yep thats right 6 MONTHS. See this thread http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=60082 I started in April, and it was available for 2 months before that. I did contact jet and it's been sitting waiting to ship during that time. I find it interesting that Jet is waiting until now to Advertise it.

I was torn between this saw and a PM2000 and ended up with the 2000. I am glad I did as it looks like a number of corners were cut on this saw but the price is not much less than a PM 2000.

Mark, the flex tube DC connection is stolen right off the PM2000 and that setup works great.

The flex tube DC connection has been around for a long time. I don't know who stole it from whom, but it doesn't matter, it's a good thing. My INCA 2200 has one and It works great. What's really weird is how well it works even when there is no DC attached. Yes, I do get some chips in the cabinet, especially when I forget to put the shroud cover over the blade.

Along with the riving knife, it's nice to see better designed dust collection in new table saws.

This is a nice saw -- but I believe that their riving knife bissed the boat -- it extends beyong the blade and has to be removed for non-through cuts.

I have heard that there is a low profile riving knife, bub I did not see in listed as a accessory -- and believe that with it installed, the blade guard will not attach -- so it probably can't be used with a guard.

It seems to be a design oversite / flaw?

Bob it is the same design as the PM2000, and there is a low profile riving knife available (I called and checked a while back) In fact the tech thought it was the EXACT same one as used in the PM2000.

The Low profile riving knife does not have an attachment for a blade guard, just like the PM2000 and the Saw Stop, so this is nothing new. Doesn't bother me as I have an overarm guard installed anyway which gives me better dust collection to boot.

Are you saying that a grinder and 10 minutes won't make the taller riving knife better?
