I'm guessing that it's a band saw box. She did a great job hiding the cuts.:D

Well, after visiting the blog, I see that I was right. That's a beautiful example of a band saw box and a great use for the oak burl.

It is amazing how well the bark held on, through the machining, sanding, etc.

In preparation for her presentation to our Guild, Sandy has prepared several band saw boxes at various stages of completion :cool: . This should give everyone an idea of the process involved in making them.
