Pie safe planning question.

Hello,

I am looking at building a rather large Pie safe. The sides are normal Frame and Panel. It is about 17" deep. I would like to glue up a solid top. Any ideas how I should connect the top to the sides so the top doesnt split from seasonal movement? It needs to be pretty sturdy to handle the weight of the doors.

Any ideas would be helpful!

I cut biscuit slots in the sides and use the offset brackets which screw into the underside of the top and stick into the biscuit slots. I got them from Rockler. I also got the punched tin panels from them....turned out nice. I'd post pictures but don't have the time.
