Several months ago, I was considering the purchase of a new lathe. A hearty thanks to BernieWeishapl for giving me feedback on the Sears 15" (same as Palmgren) lathe. It took a while to get it in, but, for the price, it does a great job. Have completed 48 balusters with no complaint from the lathe. The only problem is the plastic sleeve for the tail stock set screw - the grooves stripped out. Has anyone else experienced this? Am considering replacing the piece with a simple bolt. If anyone has suggestions for something better, will appreciate this advice.
