Here is a small box elder bowl I turned from a scrap. It was pretty punky and soft on the bottom especially the tenon which I thought might break off and on one side of the lip. So I used the epoxy cocktail on it. It turned out pretty good. Finished with Arm-R-Seal and Seal-A-Cell. Buffed. It is 6" by 2 3/4".

Great save Bernie!

I have yet to try the cocktail but I know it could have saved a few pieces.

Thanks guys. I posted this mainly for the two Jason's to see a bowl did with epoxy. It does not stain the wood or darken it. Anyway it was a scrap that I threw on the little Rikon and give it a spin. Didn't turn out to bad.

Nice bowl Bernie. Gotta love box elder - though thinking of punky BE makes me shiver - there's enough tear out issues with it as it is.

Great bowl Bernie. I am really a fan of the simple bowl shapes. And not just because they are easy to sand. Haha. Nice bottom on that one.
