I am looking to build a workstation/storage box for my dovetail jig. At one time I saw a great looking one that had dovetails in it but can't seem to find it on a search.
If you have a dovetail workstation/storage box please post a pic if you would.
Thanks,
Jim

Eric Gustafson is the guy to talk to about that. When he got his set up the first thing he did was build a dovetail box for the jig. It's pretty darned nice for his first try.

There was one in Shopnotes a couple of issues ago. It was made out of plywood vs. being a solid wood dovetailed box.

Jim PM'd me. I will post the pics of what I built. ( When Bill brings his camera over!) Mine is not a workstation, however. Just a box.

Alright, with no further adieu. Here's Erics storage cabinet. I think he did a great job, especially for his first try.

The plate mounted to the bottom is designed to hold the jig in a vise. The channel in the back of the box is to lock the unit in place when stored in the box. I'm sure Eric will chime in and explain the rest. Some darned nice jointery for his first try too.:)

Woops. That Quilted maple is for an up comming project. we'll get to that at a later date.:D ;)

Thanks Bill.

Aftrer seeing the Shopnotes workstation/storage, I want to build that. Too bad I did not have those plans at the time.

I built this box so I could try out through doves and have somewhere to put this thing so it didn't get bent up or have lost parts.

After seeing those pics I feel kinda inadequate - I just hang mine on a peg board...

Mine sits on a shelf :P However, one of the members who hasn't stepped up yet but has contributed a lot to the woodworking crowd:

Tom Hintz:

Once I get to it, I'm going to mimic Tom's design. Nice and clean :)
