View Full Version : Acorn Problem/Pickup

It is the time of the year when living in the woods has it's beauty and the work associated with fall. The hours+++ cleaning up the leaves is not a problem, the problem is the thousands of acorns that fall.

IS there an easy way to cleanup these, in the grass I use my shopvac, but the mulched gardens are another story.

Aren't the squirels supposed to take care of that? :D I can't stand the damn things; they always get wedged in between the 2-by's on my deck and it bugs the hell out of me.

Actually, I have very few squirrels since I had 3 hawks living in the trees this entire summer.

I have an electric leaf blower/vac that would suck them up. It picks up the fir cones that we get dropping here. There's a bag so you just empty it out after. Of course if they are jammed between deck boards it doesn't have quite enough suction to pull them out.

Bob, send the hawks here, they're welcome to our squirrels.

Bob. I have a spring roller I use for walnuts.
I'm sure it would work on pecans, etc. also.

I bought it from Hammons here in Missouri.
Hammons buys, processes most of the walnuts in Missouri.

I'm still trying to figure how the squirrels are getting in between the 2x's.:p:p:p
