This is a piece that I've been working on for a few days, my attempt at being artsy fartsy. It's Box Elder burl, two pieces, about 7" diameter and 5" tall. I'm not sure what you would call it. The bottom bowl has a small hole and the the top piece has a tenon that fits into it. I haven't glued them together so the two pictures show them turned differently. My wife says it reminds her of a flower.

Looks great to me!
Reminds me of that movie where the flower eats the dentist.

Oh and I was all ready to be so impressed that you turned them in one piece ;)
Really though, it looks great. Could it be a burl blossom?

Your wife is right, besides, your client (customer) will enjoy the idea of being able to participate in the artistic process.

Definitely more artsy than the other. Did not know that box elder had that much to show. Will require careful study of angular relationship before the glue. Looks to me like some seriously nice work (but what do I know).

This creation shows immagination and talent. The center reminds me of a magnolia blossom, thanks for letting me see it.

Beautiful piece Curt. I agree with your wife. It reminds me of a water lilly. That's a good thing!:)
