Neal,
It looks beautiful, but can you explain the "SAC" finish? I am not a turner, and I know what BLO means, but I have never heard of "SAC".
Can SAC be used on flatwork?
Thanks,
Martin

Hi Martin. I was just in your neck of the woods on Saturday. We love Granbury.
SAC is "Seal-A-Cell", a General Finish product, and it's great on flatwork (or so I imagine :D). I use it on most of my turnings now-a-days. It really brings out the grain without too much discoloration.
They also make a urethane-based product called "Arm-R-Seal" that's great when you need a high-gloss protective coat.. I've used it a few times but normally I'm satisfied with SAC and a buff.

Beautiful piece Neal. Great job with a beautiful piece of wood. I'm with Jim - I really like the definition the 'sharp' rim gives.
