About 8 years ago I bought a 3 1/2 hp Craftsman plunge router. After three years of infrequent use (its really big and heavy) it quit. The motor would turn at very low RPM, but it wouldn't spin up to speed at any speed setting. I checked the brushes and they looked as good as new. I took it to the Sears repair center, but they wouldn't "repair" it. They wanted almost as much as I paid for it to "refurbish" it which I figured meant they would put a new motor in it. I declinded and took it home and stuck it in a drawer. I replaced it with the infamous PC 7529 and forgot about it. I came across it again this Sunday and decided to just chuck it, but plugged it in one last time just to see if it still didn't work. It started up right up and ran at all different speeds. Go figure. I stuck it back in the drawer and fully expect it not to work next time I need it.

I guess it just needs a good long rest, like some of us here, before it'll work again.... :D
