I’m looking for recommendations on 8”X1”X1” grinding wheels. I bought some blue wheels from Woodcraft a couple of years ago that I have never really been happy with. They wobble and the course wheel seemed way too soft.
So anyway, what grits, brand, color, do you guys recommend for general grinding with the occasional chisel thrown in?

Thanks

Bruce, I mostly use my grinder for turning tools. That said, I have Norton white 80x and 120x, I believe. I think I got them from LV, but its been awhile. I think sites that sell turning supplies will offer the most variety...

Bruce, I also uset the white Norton, same grits, 80 and 120, and almost exclusively to sharpen turning tools, or the occassional lawn mower blade, a few other things. Jude

I'm using the Norton 3X in 60 and 100 grit (with the OneWay balancing system) and have been more than pleased with the performance...best wheels I've ever owned. They are a "greenish white" color. I bought them through Hartville Tool 'cause they had the grits I wanted.
