Large Burl

This is a very large burl which was turned/carved by Roger Jacobs and was donated by a customer to the Grandfather Mountain Museum, in Western North Carolina. It is approximately the size of a hot tub! Hard to imagine how difficult it must have been to handle something so large and heavy.

The burl is from a black birch.
