This is my first pepper mill or grinder whatever you call it :D. The coffee can is just for size reference. Its spalted pecan from the smoker wood pile. Also has a few worm holes. This was also the very first piece done on the new Jet 1642.

Nice job, Bobby. That pecan has a lot of character, too...a great choice for this piece.

Most excellent Bobby!!!! The LOML would love it because she says that worm holes and such adds "character". :D

Ok I'm going to state what the others are obviously missing in this turning. Granted it is good in form, finish, function, etc etc etc...... But what is being missed is........................ you got a 1642 and turned a peppermill instead of a large bowl!?!?!?!?!:D

I'm guilty Tyler.:D But I have messed up this darn peppermill 3 times so far on the Jet mini. So I tried it on the 1642. Besides the blank wasn't big enough to make a bowl out of.:D I don't have a bowl blank in the shop at this time.:(
Got to get out and look for some downed trees after the hurricane last week.

Looks great, Bobby! I like the burn lines. That 1642 is liking you!

Nice pepper mill Bobby, it is quite a difference turning on the 1642 than on the mini isn't it.

I haven't tried turning yet. After seeing this I'm gonna have to give it a go.

Good job, and it's already at work in the kitchen.
