Today I sold my Craftsman 21829 and am looking for a new ts. I saw a Delta 36-715 at a local Rockler and was wondering what creekers thought of this saw or a comparable saw. Thanks

Hi Brian - That's the Delta hybrid with the T2 fence. From what I've seen, it appears to be a pretty solid saw, and owners give it mainly positive comments.

I've seen the 715 go below $550, which seems like a screaming deal. I've also seen it pushing $900, which puts you close enough to a Griz 1023 that I think you should at least ponder upping the bid to get into one of those. You may also run into a good used cabinet saw...note that they'll require 220v.

If 220v isn't an option, the 36-715 falls into a price range of some other pretty good hybrids...food for thought - the Craftsman 22124 (http://www.epinions.com/content_184778395268)has some parts in common with the Delta, but it features cabinet mounted trunnions vs the traditional table mounts on the 36-715, so I'd be looking into that and the nearly identical Steel City 35601. The Griz G0478, Jet Pro Shop, and GI 50-220 also run in that general range, and are worth a look as you consider which best suits your needs.

Good luck and keep us posted.
