Like many members of the Creek, I'm sure, my family doesn't live close to any of our extended family...we're talking states away. Now that my twins are four years old, and can actually understand what it means to talk to and miss their grandparents, I'd really like to get us and them hooked up with internet video cameras. I plan to start researching my options this evening, but I hoped I might be able to call on the collective experience of the Creek as well. Does anybody have any recommendations in this area? I don't want to spend a ton of money, yet I want the kids to be able to recognize who it is they're talking too!

Any help you could provide would be appreciated!

Keith,
First...We have family and work related people all over the world. I highly recommend SKYPE... www.skype.com (http://www.skype.com) ... it's free to use...and cheap if you want to expand.

As for your question...
We own two of the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 and are very happy with it. DrLOML uses it when discussing the brainiac stuff she does all over the world...family in Canada...and I use it mostly to talk to the son in Italy.

Also recommend that you check out this site to help you decide what's best for you ... http://cowboyfrank.net/webcams/index.htm

Thanks very much, Glenn!! I'll take a look at all of that information and see what fits. I appreciate it!

Sure...but does she really want to talk to her son anymore than she has to?;) :D

Or look at him while he's talking. After all, I guess I never did look at her (or my dad) when they were talking. They kept saying "look at me when I'm talking to you!"
