DO I need to purchase a blade stiffener with a high end blade if I get the 1/8 kerf. Thanks

I haven't used my blade stiffener in years...'found it unnecessary.

I use 'em 'cause I got them free. Even with my thin kerf blades I find it unneccesary on a properly tuned machine. The reason I still use them is all my ZCI's are sized for the offset. Once the current batch of ZCI's dies off I will probably forgo the stiffeners.

I agree with the other posts, I bought a set years ago when I got my first WWII, while it did seem to dampen the whine of the blade some I could tell no noticible difference in the cut. What I did encounter though is that it reduced the depth capacity significantly.

They're a good purchase if you want the salesperson to take his/her spouse to lunch with the profit. Save your money and take your spouse to lunch! ;)
... No detectable difference on good blades for me.
