This little piece is walnut and maple, I used some brown mahogany dye on the pedestal and finial. Antique oil finish. Measures 12'' high and 3 1/2 wide.

Very nice work Mike! The pattern kinda plays tricks with your eyes! I like the concept, form, color combination and finish!

Mike, great example of "lamination trickery". The base looks a little bit small. How is the stability? Nice work.

Actually the stability is fine, but the little cup that holds the form, is aggravating me to death, so I plan to redo it, and perhaps make the base a tad bigger. I'll post the new pic when I get it done.
