As my wife and I are hitting the road next year traveling around to shows, so I am looking at getting a epilog mini 35w to take with us. I have the larger 40w pinnacle but am trying to save space in the stepvan we purchased for our venture. My concern is will the epilog 35w cut 1/8 to 1/4 birch plywood. We do a lot of the laser buzz plaques which the 40w has no problem with. Just looking for some input from other epilog mini users..

Thanks
Mike

Shouldn't be a problem at all Mike. I can get through 1/4" solid maple. I also do some Lazerbuzz stuff but use 1/8" birch that I get from Mike.

I cut quite a bit of 1/8" baltic birch ply and solid 1/4" maple, oak, walnut, and cherry with great results.

I tried 1/4" oak ply from the local home center without success, but have not tried 1/4" baltic birch ply (their constructions are vastly different). I can not cut 5/16" cocobolo in a single pass.

1/4 Birch ply cuts very nicely at around 16 speed on my Mini 18-35w. I use it a lot. Some harder/oilier woods may be a bit problematic. I bought the set of 40 assorted woods from George at Laserarts (excellent, BTW), and with one exception, they all cut well too.
