Finally done with a piece I started in June (before the hot weather kicked in). It's sure good to be turning again!

The base is a bit different from anything I've done before. I thought something simple would work best on this piece. It was supposed to be a perfect parabolic curve. Didn't realize how challenging that would be to do by hand. The collar is a simple 'rolled in' ring insert.

Honest critiques appreciated!

Figured Pyinma and Blackwood. 5-1/2" x 5-1/2". Finished with SAC and buffed.

Neal, all I can say is....You're good, your really good! Top notch. The simplicity is what makes it so elegant. "A+" in my book.

Neal,
See my response on the other forum.
Meanwhile, get an air conditioner! You are losing valuable weeks of turning time. When you reach my age you may wish you had them back. Just a thought.
I hate standing in line or just unproductively waiting for anything, because that is time that I can't have back. Guess that was two thoughts.

Thanks for the kind comments, folks. The base has gotten mixed reviews overall but I wanted to try something different for a change. Never hurts to branch out.

Safe turning!
