Green spalted pen blanks

I was looking for some pen blanks and I came across a posting that said the spalted hakberry blanks were green. Is this possible? I was under the impression that splated meant semi rotted. Can it be green too?

My guess is they are stiil wet, as spalted wood could be fresh cut and still wet.

I turn quite a bit of spalted wood and it can still be very wet.
