Finial Box

I got this design from the Journal of the American Association of Woodturners "American Woodturner" article written by Fred Klap. His article featured a nontraditional finial, I tried and just could not carve the finial, I finally gave up. I just turned my finial. Total height is 7" x 3". It is walnut with maple ring and finial. In the picture, the walnut lid looks like a different wood then the box, but it looks the same in person. Finish antique oil and buffed.
