I am new into woodworking with limited experience. I am building a new shop currently in Cullman, Alabama an would like to know woodworking equipment stores in Huntsville or Birmingham. I also get to Nashville fairly often and would like to have info there also. I am going to buy jointer, planer, tablesaw, etc. All I have here is a small Lowes with limited equipment even though this is just my hobby. Any info will be helpful.

Welcome to the neighborhood, Steve!

I think the man you want to talk to is Mr. Ken Salisbury. He lives just outside of Huntsville, and I would think knows the area pretty well. At least he could tell you where to get Bud Light and pen-turning kits.;) ;)

Steve,
There are no real "woodworking" stores persay in Huntsville. We do have 3 Lowes Superstores, 1 Home Depot and 1 Harbor Freight. The closest Woodcraft store would be just South of Birmingham. The best place I know of to buy the larger pieces of equipment would be General Industrial Supply in Nashville. Let me know if you intend to go there. I will hook you up with the owner. They have great prices on both new and scratch & dent Jet and Powermatic equipment. If I can help you locate any other resources let me know.
