As you can see my 1st attempt at a hollow form got a little thin. So I tried again, it is Ash with a walnut finial. 3 " diameter and 4 1/2" tall with finial. I got the thickness all under 1/8" but not very consistent. Please let me know what you think of the overall shape, any advice would be appreciated. Antique oil and buffed.

Ron:
I'm no expert but I like the shape and the finial. The piece seems to me to have very pleasing lines.

I wrote the book on turning the inside bigger than the outside. Don't sweat it.

I'd say you're a natural at HFs and finials. I look forward to seeing your next one!

Ron that is well done. I like the finial and the contrast it to the ash. Don't worry about thin walls. 1/8" to 3/16" I find is pretty good.

I like it a lot. Everything seems to be in balance and the colors are great together. Nice job. :)

The curves are smooth and consistent. I like it without the finial better than with it, but it that case I'd have treated the rim a tiny bit differently. Just my $0.02.. :)

I made my first attempt at a hollow form last night. Looks just like your #1! Just love the looks of all those HF's posted here so guess I better keep trying.

Looks great and the proportions are right on, nice job William, try a pedistal for it now that somewhat matches the final in shape and etc.
