What does "screening" with some grit screen mean as opposed to using sandpaper?

It's basically the same thing Ed. The screen is just that, a sceen with abrasive particles bonded to it. Usually people buy them in a large disc and different grits that go on the bottom of a floor buffer. It is also used to sand drywall mud on a sanding pole but ofcourse the screen is precut in a smaller size. They work pretty good because you can usually knock the buildup off of them if the finish isn't too gummy. I'm not sure where you will find them other than a rental store, if they don't have them I would think they could tell you where to find them.

Thanks Chuck. After I sent the message, my wife brought out a drywall sanding pole, and said "you think this is what they meant"?

Ed, find a local floor supply store in your area and they should have what you want. I am not talking about a place that retails flooring products (i.e., tile, carpet, laminate, etc.), I am refering to a business that sells products to installers. I my area of Florida we use Shorline Flooring Supply.

DO NOT use drywall sanding screens.

Thanks Greg (especially for the timely warning).
