Hi Y'all, I like to try different things to expand the uses of available material and am happy to share my findings with recent efforts. You probably know that Delvies has ivory colored 1/8th" acrylic on sale for a buck a foot, and I am finding many uses for it. George's Card caddy looks great with it, but there's much more. I spray it flat black and do great portraits. I also use a variety of wood color shading lacquers for a softer look. I've also been using this procedure on light woods like basswood and maple. I shoot a clear sealer coat then go over it with black or other color. Results are striking and opens the door for wider uses of inexpensive material. I'll post some pics later.
